Next week we’re returning to the motherland for a sneak preview of our new documentary on the social justice experiment being conducted in the Los Angeles legal system.

Four years ago, that city decided to make a man named George Gascon its district attorney. Gascon offered a literally liberatory vision of criminal justice reform: stop enforcing laws, slash sentences, released prisoners. Our documentary, drawing on interviews with half a dozen current and former county prosecutors, provides a granular look of how this experiment has been going…. (Not well.)
